MORR Photography Moments

"Working on a Dream"

     About Me

I'd just like to give you a bit more information on my background and where my love of photography began.

Up until December 2001, my employment background was office based, within the Finance area. It was at this time that I was given the

opportunity  of a severance package, which after considering for a couple months, I accepted, and finished my employment  on February 28, 2002

After several short trips over to Dublin, I then made plans to set off on a 12-week travel expedition around parts of the USA. It was simply

amazing to board the flight to New York on Thursday 13 June, 2002.

The cities visited were: New York, Boston, Washington, Niagara, Las Vegas, San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and San Francisco.

The was simply the most amazing travel experience that I'd had, and it will always stay with me. However, at the end of that year, something

happened that has completely changed my approach to life.

December 24, 2002

On Christmas Eve 2002, I collapsed at home and was rushed to the local hospital. After several tests, the hospital could not confirm to my family

what had happened, so I was then quickly moved to a hospital in Edinburgh.

Within an hour, they had identified that I had suffered Viral Encephalitis (inflammation of the brain), and I was immediately placed into an

induced coma.

For the next month my family waited at my beside in intensive care for any changes. After signs of improvement, the staff were able to take me off

the equipment and support me with my recovery.

I was finally released from hospital at the end of March 2003, and my family were advised that it would be a very slow recovery, and I may not be

ready to return to employment for up to 12 months.

But, through sheer determination and support from my family and friends, I returned to my temporary post in April 2003.

After the temporary contract had ended; June 2003, I then set off on a three week vacation to California with a friend!

Outlook

So, as you can imagine after suffering an illness like this, and surviving, it changes your approach to life. My interest in photography has grown

since 2002, and I have upgraded and added to my equipment to assist.

I first started selling images online with and company based in the USA Shutterpoint and after some success, I felt it was time to get my own site

created and MORR Photography Moments arrived.

This has been worked on as much as possible, as up until August 2016, I was still in a full-time post in the Education industry.

Charity Fundraising

Another challenge area that I have been highly involved in since suffering the illness, is Charity Fundraising.

The charity that I chose for most of my events was The Encephalitis Society, based in Yorkshire (www.encephalitis.info)

So far my list of events totals seven and some images and certificates from these are shown below:

Well, that's a note of some the of the charity events I've done up to now. I'll work on adding to these as the years go by.

It doesn't take much to say which one I am most proud of: the Walt Disney World Marathon in January 2010.

The feeling of crossing that finish line at the end was incredible!

So, I'm going to leave it at that for now. Please enjoy your tour around the site and drop me a note with any enquires you have on the

images.

Best Wishes,

Mitch
